About Gord
Hi! My name is Gord and I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. I’ve been cooking and baking for as long as I can remember. There’s nothing more I love than hosting a big dinner party.
I consider myself a foodie and I’ve learned mostly by trial and error, cooking shows, magazines and other foodies I know; I enjoy sharing my creations with my friends and neighbours. You can find me growing vegetables in my garden, cooking any style of food, smoking meats on the BBQ, baking and canning.
My recipes are simple and easy to follow. I have a lot of helpful hints to make food preparation and storage easier. As you’ll notice I don’t put any preparation times on my recipes as I believe that puts unnecessary pressure on people to have it done by a certain time. Prep time depends on you and your kitchen practices.
The one thing I cannot stress enough is to read the entire recipe before you start. There’s nothing worse than realizing halfway through that you need to peel the tomatoes, or blanche something. Thoroughly read the recipe first so you’re aware of what needs to be done.
I’m not a professional by any means, my steps and suggestions are simply what works best for me in the kitchen and I hope to share that knowledge.
